Saturday, August 27th at 7
Clermont Vineyards and Winery

Jazz in GTown is proud to bring the acclaimed jazz pianist and composer Francesca Tanksley to Germantown on Saturday, August 27th at 7 p.m. at the Clermont Vineyards and Winery. Francesca, with Jeff Siegel on drums and Otto Gardner on bass, will play original compositions, some from her album Journey.

Francesca is well known and praised for her harmonies and color, her chordings, her “domination” of the piano. Whether playing with her trio or as long time piano soloist with Billy Harper’s Quintet, she immediately grabs your attention and doesn’t let go until she’s ready.

Francesca began playing piano when she was seven and, after finishing her studies at Berklee College of Music. she returned to Germany, where she grew up as an American abroad, and began playing with European groups.  She moved to New York City and joined Melba Liston & Co., the trailblazing female trombonist’s group.  As well as leading her own trio and being a long time key member of Billy Harper’s quintet, she has played with Erica Lindsey, David Newman, Clifford Jordan, Cecll Payne, Slide Hampton, and in venues in Europe, East and Southeast Asia, Scandinavia and South America as well as across the United States,

Ms. Tanksley has won a number of awards and scholarships, and has conducted jazz workshops at numerous colleges including Bard, and serves as faculty at New School University’s Jazz and Contemporary Music Program.

We look forward to seeing you at the Winery
for another incredible performance.

The bar will be open before and after the concert.
